Karen Mallory
Beaverton, OR
Karen is the Founder, Director, and Teacher of Mallory Music Arts Studio and has been teaching private music and voice for 45 years. She serves on the voice faculty at Pacific University and is a K-12 general and choral music specialist in Oregon public schools. Karen’s vocal performance career focused on and specialized in Contemporary Commercial Music at nightclub, pop, and rock venues, singing as the lead singer in multiple cover bands and musical theatre cabarets. She is a sought-after vocal coach and clinician for music theatre companies and high school drama and choral departments, frequently giving master classes and performance workshops, and serving as an adjudicator for solo vocal music and music theatre competitions and festivals. She is a longtime member of NATS, having served in various Board positions over a 10-year span while raising her two highly musical sons.
Karen’s journey to YogaVoice® certification stemmed from her need to heal from the debilitating grief of her eldest son’s suicide. Trauma can become locked in the mind and body on many levels, but the ability to heal exists within everyone. YogaVoice® provides the awareness to listen to and strengthen the inner voice, helping to heal and restore the outer voice. Music is the essence of life, while singing is the most natural expression of that essence. Singing with your heart, mind, body, and soul releases, restores, and shares the essence of your authentic self.
